EGSC presents to you Interview Secrets — Cracking the Quant Role, Tuesday, November 17th, at 9pm ET.

In this edition of the Interview Secrets series, we bring to you an inside look of what hiring managers look for in candidates for Quantitative Finance roles.

 

Our panel comprises alumni at firms in the finance and investment management industry, who will share with us their thoughts on how the interviewing process works alongside a sneak peek into their lives in Quantitative Finance roles. The panel will be followed by Q&A in smaller groups, where students will have the opportunity to directly ask panelists questions and engage in further discussions.

 About the panelists:

Nikul Ukani

Nikul Ukani earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from DJ Sanghvi College of Engineering (Mumbai) and a Doctorate from Columbia Engineering. He did his Doctoral research in computational neuroscience in the Bionet Lab under supervision of Prof. Lazar. After graduating from Columbia in 2018, he switched his focus to finance and joined D.E. Shaw as a quantitative analyst where he works on theoretical pricing models for convertible bonds and bespoke structured credit products. Nikul is a recipient of the Jury award and Graduate Student Life award from Columbia Engineering.

Linfeng Xu Lucas

Linfeng Xu Lucas graduated from Columbia MSFE (financial engineering) in 2017. Prior to that he got a Bachelor’s Degree at University of Chicago majoring in Math. He joined Millennium Management in 2018 post graduation from Columbia and has been working in the firm since. He has done a range of work as a Quant including optimization, risk management and quantitative analysis.
