Panel Description: GradSWE is hosting an internship panel with panelists from diverse fields of study to provide students with information about different internship opportunities, application process and tips on how to manage internships during a pandemic. Panelists: 1. BME - Shani Sadeh - Quality Assurance Intern @ Cresilon Inc 2. CS - Michelle Roy Data Science Intern @ Microsoft 3. EE - Niabelle Thelemaque Intern @Aersopace Corporation 4. APAM - Aimee Moses Machine Learning Intern @Expedition Technology Panelist Bios: Aimee Moses is a 2nd year M.S. student in Applied Mathematics with a B.A. in Mathematics and Psychology from Northwestern University. This summer, she worked (remotely) for a small signal and image processing defense contractor based in Washington DC. Her position was "Machine Learning Intern" and she was doing algorithm development for a deep learning problem in signal processing. Niabelle Thelemaque is a second year Master's student studying Electrical Engineering. This past summer she interned remotely at the Aerospace Corporation, a federally funded research and development center. She was in the Communications Payload Command & Telemetry Department and her title was MTS (Member of Technical Staff) Graduate Intern. Her main duties included leading the Communications team in a Concept Design Center interdisciplinary study, evaluating and assessing anomalous data, and researching future lab capabilities. Michelle Roy is currently in her final semester as a Master of Science, Computer Science (Machine Learning Track) student at Columbia University. Her interests lie mainly in Applied Machine Learning and Data Science. This summer she completed a three-month Data and Applied Science internship at Microsoft, Redmond. She worked on automating common user engagement related analytics for internal Microsoft products using Machine Learning. She has also previously interned at McAfee as a Mobile Development Intern and at Fidelity Investments as a Research Intern. Shani Sadeh is a 2nd year MS student in Biomedical Engineering, and is also currently serving as the Secretary for GradSWE. Over the summer, Shani has interned (both in person and remotely) at Cresilon, a biomed company which develops plant based technology for hemostasis based in Brooklyn, NY. Shani has worked as a Quality Assurance intern, and was responsible for assisting in establishing the quality management system, participating in inspections and reporting non-conformances. Shani is also an Alumni of the LifeSci NYC program.
