Join the members of qSTEM in a new monthly event series specifically for female-identifying LGBT scientists and engineers. We will kick off the series with a virtual film screening and discussion about the first episode of the BBC Two docuseries Engineering Giants: 'Jumbo Jet Strip Down,' in which a team of engineers takes apart a Boeing 747 piece by piece to put it back together for maintenance and our entertainment. The one-hour documentary will be followed by an informal conversation about the technologies exhibited, the thrills and challenges of engineering as portrayed by the film, the film's treatment of women as engineers and scientists, and anything else on which you would like to comment. So grab some popcorn, your pet (or maybe just a pillow), and that one shirt that you have been wearing to every other Zoom meeting (you know the one, and your professor does too), and join us!
